'PRESIDENT OBAMA SEEN AS ANTI-BUSINESS BY 77% OF U.S. INVESTORS'
(Bloomberg/Yahoo! News) -- Bloomberg.com reports, "U.S. investors overwhelmingly see President Barack Obama as anti-business and question his ability to manage a financial crisis, according to a Bloomberg survey." The Bloomberg survey found that "77% of U.S. respondents believe Obama is too anti-business," while "Carlos Vadillo, a fixed-income analyst at Wells Fargo Securities LLC in San Francisco, said Obama has been in a 'constant war' with the banking system, using 'fat-cat bankers and other misnomers to describe a business model which supports a large portion of America.'" http://news.yahoo.com/s/bloomberg/20100121/pl_bloomberg/a8uii1bcrdmy/print>

'AVERAGE FEDERAL EMPLOYEE SALARY IS $71,206 - ABOUT $31,000 MORE THAN AVERAGE PRIVATE SECTOR WORKER'
I remember when I was young - people went to work for the government because of the stability of the job and great retirement. The pay was less than the private sector but the benefits made up for that. Now that has all changed - great benefits and much better than average pay. Where do I apply?
(Dallas Morning News blog) -- Despite the severe recession, a Dallas Morning News blog reports that a USA TODAY analysis "shows federal salaries have actually increased through this recession while 7.3 million private sector jobs have gone POOOF!" The blog notes: "Now the average federal worker's salary is $71,206 compared with $40,331 in the private sector." According to the post, "the percentage of federal workers making more than $100,000 jumped from 14% to 20%" since the start of the recession. HOW THE GOVERNMENT PAYROLL REPLACED GOODS-PRODUCING JOBS
"The decline of the jobs in goods producing sectors of the economy--construction, manufacturing, mining and agriculture--has largely been met with an increase in jobs on the government payroll."
The chart below tracks this increase. Read the rest of the article at: http://www.businessinsider.com/chart-of-the-day-goods-producing-wrokers-vs-government-payroll-2010-1.

SHOULD THE GOVERNMENT GET INVOLVED?
Do you know someone who thinks the government should be running health care and our banks? The next time you talk to them, read them the following list:
- Up to 12 different agencies are responsible for administering more than 35 food-safety laws.
- There are 541 clean air, water, and waste programs spread out over 29 agencies.
- 40 different programs aimed primarily at job training are administered by at least 7 different federal agencies.
- 50 different programs to aid the homeless are administered by at least 8 different federal agencies.
- 9 different agencies operate 27 teen-pregnancy programs and 11 agencies administer at least 90 early-childhood programs.
These are just a few government-run programs. I'm sure you could think of some yourself.
